TCM ACTIONS
Clears Heat Toxin and Damp-Heat, dispels Wind from the skin, nourishes the Blood and Yin, activates the Blood and dispels stasis.
TCM SYNDROMES
Wind, Damp and Heat in the skin with Heat Toxin and Blood stasis.
Deficiency of the Blood and Yin.
INDICATIONS
Subacute eczema, chronic eczema.
SIGNS & SYMPTOMS
Itching of the skin, Thickening of the skin, Inflammation of the skin, Darkening of the affected areas, Dryness of the skin, Vesicles, Exudation, Crusting
DOSAGE & COURSE OF TREATMENT
3 - 4 capsules, 2 - 3 times daily. In severe cases and in the early stages of treatment (first 2 - 3 weeks) the dosage may be increased by 50%. Course of treatment: 3 - 9 months.
Safe to use long term.
CONTRAINDICATIONS & INTERACTIONS
Avoid coffee, deep fried foods, hot spices, and ‘hydrogenated’ fats.
Caution for those on anti-coagulant medications (i.e. Heparin, warfarin or aspirin).
Contains Glycyrrhiza, which potentiates prednisone and corticosteroids by prolonging steroid biological half-life; caution in patients with hypertension.
